Ingredients
2 packages (2 Tbsp) active dry yeast
1/2 cup warm water
1/2 cup milk, scalded
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
2 beaten eggs
4 to 4 1/2 cups flour
1/4 cup butter, melted
1 tsp. cinnamon
3/4 cup sugar
apricot preserve, optional
Directions
Step 1
Dissolve yeast in water. Let sit! Mix together milk, butter, salt and sugar until butter melts and sugar dissolves. Add to yeast once luke warm. Mix in eggs. Add flour, one cup at a time. Knead 8-10 minutes on a floured surface. Put in a greased bowl and let sit, covered, until doubled in size. Punch down and let sit for 10 minutes. Roll dough into small balls. Mix cinnamon with 3/4 cup sugar. Roll balls in butter, then sugar mixture. Place in greased tube pan. Let rise until doubled in size. Bake for 35-40 minutes at 350. Cool in pan. Optionally, spread apricot preserve between layers.
