Ingredients
Caramel
1 cup sugar
2 cups hot water
2 tbsp. butter
1/4 tsp. salt
Dumplings
1 1/2 cups flour
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup milk
2 tbsp. butter (softened?)
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. vanilla
Directions
Step 1
In sauce pan cook 1/2 sugar until it begins to caramelize. Add remaining caramel ingredients. Cook and stir until sugar dissolves and mixture is smooth. Keep warm.
Step 2
Combine dumpling ingredients. Mix lightly. Drop by spoonfuls into hot caramel sauce to make 10 dumplings. Cook over low heat, covered, for 20 minutes.
