Ingredients

1 15 ounce can reduced-sodium black beans, rinsed and drained

1 egg, lightly beaten

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Directions

STEP 1

In a large bowl, mash the beans with a potato masher or fork until they are mostly smooth. Add the breadcrumbs, cheese, and spices. Stir to thoroughly to combine, and taste test. Then add the egg. Shape into 4 even patties, about 1/2-inch thick.

STEP 2

Heat griddle to 225 degrees. Grill until cooked through (160 degrees F), about 6 minutes per side.
