2 tsp. olive oil&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
1 yellow onion, chopped&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
4 cloves garlic, minced&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
2 tsp. Madras curry&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
1/2 tsp. ground cardamom&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
5 cups vegetable broth&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
3/4 cup dried red lentils&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
3/4 tsp. salt&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
3 cups coarsely chopped swiss chard or kale&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
1/4 cup plain yogurt&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;

== Step 1 ==&lt;br /&gt;
In a large sauce pan heat oil over medium heat.  Add onion and garlic and cook, stirring, until soft and fragrant, about 5 minutes.  Sprinkle the curry and cardamom over the onion, stirring on minute longer.&lt;br /&gt;

Add broth, lentils and salt and bring to a boil over high heat.  Reduce heat to low and simmer uncovered until the lentils are tender, about 20-25 minutes.&lt;br /&gt;

Stir in the swiss chard, stir 1 until the chard is tender, about 5 minutes.  Ladle into individual bowls, top with yogurt, and serve.&lt;/div&gt;</summary>
